Best method for how to add voiceover to canva presentation?

Sometimes slides and presentations can seem a little boring. You can add some personality to your presentations by adding a voice. Voiceovers can add visual cues to slides that otherwise look boring. And graphic design tools like Canva lets you add voiceovers quite easily.

You may wonder if Voice Recording can be added to your Canva presentation. This article will show you how to add voiceovers to your Canva presentation.



Can Canva use voiceovers?

Canva doesn’t have voiceover capabilities at the time this article was written. Canva is a graphic design platform that provides various tools, templates, and resources to assist users in creating professional-looking graphics.

This is useful for creating digital content such as social media posts, logos and flyers, posters, flyers, and presentations. These designs are easy to share with others and can also be used for personal and professional purposes.

Canva doesn’t have a specific feature for recording voiceovers and creating audio clips. However, Canva users can add Audio to visuals created with the Canva Audio tool. You can browse royalty-free Audio tracks and upload your recordings to complete your designs.


How to add voiceover to canva presentation?

You have two options to accomplish this in Canva for the web: you can either record the Audio before or afterward. You can also use Canva’s recording studio (beta).

Canva’s built-in feature allows you to add voiceovers and edit existing presentations. You will need a quiet place to record your voice. This is just one of many things that you should consider. This is especially important if you don’t have a dedicated microphone or rely on your computer’s microphone.

It’s not an actual implementation but a workaround. This means that there are fewer customization options. You can’t trim or modify the recording via Canva for the web.

Let’s now see how voiceovers can be added to Canva presentations.

Step 1 – Once you’ve finished your presentation, tap the three-dot menu in the upper right corner. Select ‘Present and record’ from the available options and then choose Start Recording.

Step 2 – You’ll need to allow Audio. You can skip the camera permission for now, as we only need the Audio, not the video, in this Canva presentation. Once you are done, click the Start recording button.

All you have to do now is to record your voice and upload it to the slides. Red is used to indicate slides that have recorded Audio. Remember to follow the instructions on the slide.

Click on the Pause button to pause. You can also skip slides that you don’t want voiceovers.

Step 3 Once the recording has been completed, click the Done button in the upper-right corner. The download may take some time, depending on how long the Audio is and the presentation’s content. Canva allows you to share and copy the presentation link directly.


Add via Audio files.

We assume that you will add individual voiceovers for each slide. Canva’s web version can accept audio and video files. However, slides and presentations are best with MP4 files. You can only add Audio files to slides.

You can convert MP4 videos with one of many tools, such as VLC Player.

Canva only offers limited customization options, so you’ll need to trim the files before uploading.


  • Step 1: After all slides have been created and are ready to go, upload them to Canva.
  • Step 2: Drag the file to the slide. You will see a black block at the top of the slide because it is an MP4 file.
  • Step 3: To check if the Audio file is playing properly, click on the Play icon at top. Select the block of Audio files you wish to play and then click the Transparency icon.

Drag the transparency slider until the audio block is almost invisible. You can adjust the volume of your Audio file by clicking the Volume button on the top ribbon.

You can push the Audio block to the rear if you have many elements on your slides. The Audio block will not be visible by this method.

For all slides, repeat the same steps. Once you have everything in order, click on the Play button. You will see your voiceovers live!

You can also click the ‘Record Yourself’ button on the Upload panel. However, it didn’t work during our testing.


How to add multiple Audio tracks to Canva?

Canva allows you to add multiple audio tracks. Canva allows you to upload up to three audio files and sync them to your designs. Simply go to the Elements tab of the Canva editor and choose Audio. There are options to upload Audio from your desktop, Canva’s vast stock audio library, or Dropbox.

After you have uploaded your Audio file, you can adjust its position, scale, volume, speed, fade in or out effects, and even adjust its volume. Multiple Audio tracks can be added, provided that each track is not more than three minutes long.

You can also view each track and make changes if necessary. You now have all you need to create and sync perfect Audio to match your designs.
