I am one of the biggest fans of PowerPoint, and I’m always searching for ways to improve my knowledge about PowerPoint and use some hacks to look more professional. One of the most excellent ways to have something in people’s way is to hide it until you click it. In this method, the text will appear when you click on it everywhere on the PowerPoint.

This hack is quick and easy to learn, and we will work on it in this blog post, so read with us to the end if you are interested in learning.

How to Hide Text Until Any Click in PowerPoint?

First, we will learn how to hide text we click on it.

Step 1:

As always, our first step is opening the PowerPoint document, and then we should click on the insert menu. 229.png

 Step 2:

Then click on the new slide.

Step 3:

For the third step, we should select blank or one of the presets. 231.png

 Step 4:

Again on the insert menu then, we should click on the text box.232.png

Step 5:

Here Drag out a text box on your slide.

Step 6:

You can find the text tools under the Home menu, click on the text box and enter your text. 234.png

Step 7:

Here you should highlight the text that you want to appear; it can be the first part of your text or all of the text (the part that you want to appear with each other).235.png

Step 8:

Just click on the Animations menu.

236.png

Step 9:

The animation type you choose is based on your decision and the way you want it, so you can click on the one you want. 237.png

Step 10:

The number you see there appears on your slides, indicating the animation order. 238.png

Step 11:

You can repeat the whole process that you want to hide.  239.png

Step 12:

By clicking the slideshow and then playing from the start, you can run the slideshow.

Or, if you are interested in using shortcuts, you can easily use the keyboard shortcut F5 on the window or Cmd+Shift+Enter  if you have Mac.

Note: your slide first appears empty, and then the next section of hidden text will appear each time you click on it. 241.png

How to Hide Text Until a Shape is Clicked in PowerPoint?

Step 1:

As always, we open the presentation document and then click on the insert.

Step 2:

Here just click on the New side.

230.png

Step 3:

Here you can choose the preset slide layout you want. I always use blank because it’s much easier to use.

231.png

Step 4:

Go to the insert menu and then click on the text box.

232.png

Step 5:

Just drag out a text box

232.png

Step 6:

Click on the text box and enter your text.

Step 7:

Again go to the insert menu and click shapes.

Step 8:

Select the shape that you want.

243.png

Step 9:

It’s time to draw out and then position it in your slides.244.png

Step 10:

Here you can also copy and paste the shapes as much as you want by right-clicking and choosing copy and paste, or if you are interested in using shortcuts, you can use Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V on Windows or Cmd+C and Cmd+V if you have Mac.

Step 11:

This step is similar to hiding text steps. You can highlight the section of the text you want to hide. 246.png

Step 12:

Click on Animations.

247.png

Step 13:

Again you can select each one you want, such as what I choose here.

251.png

Step 14:

Here in the animation menu, you click on the trigger.

252.png

Step 15:

Here you should choose one click and then select the name of the shape you want to click on to make the text appear.

253.png

Step 16:

A lightning symbol will appear next to this shape, indicating that it is an animation trigger.

Note: You should hide other sections too. To do that, you can repeat the 11-16 steps to any other sections of text you want to hide.

Step 17:

Just Start your slideshow by clicking on the Slide Show menu and clicking Play from Start.

Note: when you slide the first spares, only the shapes Wii be visible.

Step 18:

Click on one of the shapes to make the associated text appear. The order you click the shapes is the order in that the text will appear.

Note: It is essential to know that you should pay attention to clicking on slides cause this can cause the sideshow to move to the next slide.

Conclusion

It’s really great to know the tips for using PowerPoint. Winding your text or shapes can attract your audience’s attention, which is the exact thing we want, so it has two benefits for us. First of all, it can hide the items and text you don’t want your audience to see on the first step, and then it’s a great design idea and can easily catch the audience’s attention.

But as always, I recommend you to work with an agency that has similar expenses in creating and designing presentations, and they know the way.  So for that, you can call us in temis and talk with my colleagues and use our free consults.
