Why embed a video in a PowerPoint presentation?
PowerPoint presentations are great for slides, but they’re not the best way to show and watch complicated videos. If you need an easier method of sharing your content with audiences who don’t use Microsoft Office or other programs like it then consider using one among many video-sharing sites available today!

Videos help to explain the complexity
The idea that people are “visual learners” has been around for a while now. This statement might not be backed up by empirical research but many individuals I have come across throughout my life seem to prefer videos when it comes time to learn something new or engage in business transactions with others who also use visual mediums such as Youtube tutorials etcetera
I think there is some truth behind these claims because our brains process visuals better than text which means we can retain more information if they’re presented properly

Minimizes information overload
Reading from a screen can be difficult, especially when the text is very large. This could have been prevented if there were some type of animation or captions that would show what was being said during each slide
The speaker’s voice becomes lost in translation because it’s coming straight off an electronic device without any UI interface to break up information into smaller bites for easier digestion
Additionally, video provides a better way of conveying information because it can be spaced out over time. If you’re trying to get through too much text in one sitting then using videos will allow for more manageable consumption and help combat information overload by providing less overwhelming amounts at once
Mixing mediums keeps your audience engaged
Similar to the point above, having a whole bunch of text in your presentation without anything else to break it up is a quick way to lose the interest of your audience.
Going to either extreme of using only text or only video isn’t likely to help people engage with the information you’re trying to give. However, giving a mix of mediums has a much better chance of increasing engagement in a learning environment.
The overwhelming majority of people surveyed report watching explainer videos to learn more about a product, with 84% being swayed into making purchases. This suggests that including these in your sales deck may well work!
Follow these steps:
To add a bookmark to a video in PowerPoint, start by opening the video that you want to bookmark.
Then, click on the “Playhead” button at the top of the screen. This will put a red arrow on the timeline below the video.
Next, move your cursor to where you want to add the bookmark and click on it once.
You will see a small blue dot appear on the timeline. To name your bookmark, type in a title in the “Title” field above the timeline and hit “Enter”. That’s it! Your bookmark is now added.
If you want to watch your video again, but don’t want to have to fast-forward through all of the sections that you’ve already seen, simply click on the bookmark that you want to watch and the video will start playing from that point.
To delete a bookmark, hover over it on the timeline and click on the “x” that appears.

How to add a YouTube video to a PowerPoint
Whether you’re using the most updated version of PowerPoint or an older one, the steps are exactly the same here with the only difference being that older versions like PowerPoint 2010 may ask “video from the website” rather than online video/film/movie depending on your localization.
Inserting a YouTube video into your PowerPoint presentation can be done in two ways, and both require that you are connected to the internet when adding/ PLAYING.
Add YouTube video via URL
The easiest way to add video in PowerPoint is to first, select the slide you want the video to appear on, then hit the insert tab and find the video icon towards the right:
You can now paste in YouTube URLs or search for videos inside PowerPoint. The latest updates have removed this option, though—so be sure to copy and paste it quickly before you lose access!
From here, you’ll need to find the YouTube video that suits your needs and then either copy its URL from within a browser window or right-click options. You can also hit “share” on any selected videos for easy access later!
Once you’ve pasted the URL into PowerPoint, press “insert” or hit enter to insert it.
